I had a great experience getting my wisdom tooth removed here. I was in quite a bit of pain the day before and needed to have it taken care of as soon as possible. They were the only office I could find that was able to see me on a Sunday of Labor Day weekend, which I really appreciated. From the moment I arrived, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and professional. They walked me through the X-ray and examination, explained everything clearly, and made sure I was comfortable and prepared for the extraction. The doctor was excellent. He explained each step beforehand and made sure I wasn’t experiencing any pain throughout the procedure. The extraction was surprisingly quick and painless, taking only a couple of minutes. Overall, I’m very happy with my experience. The entire process was smooth and stress-free, and I would definitely recommend this office to anyone dealing with wisdom tooth pain, especially if they need to be seen quickly. -Nathaniel

I have been going to Ala Moana Dental Care for my routine dental care for many years, and the staff have always been kind and helpful. Recently, I called with concerns about an intermittent toothache, and the front desk staff were able to get me an appointment for the following day. The team took radiographs, and the dentist took the time to reassure me that there was nothing to worry about for now and explained what the next steps would be if the pain recurs. I really appreciate the prompt care, reassurance, and kindness!

I’ve been here a couple times; I recently had a cleaning & the dentists & hygienists were kind and quite experienced.

100% reliable Called in excruciating pain. They scheduled me within 2 hours. Everyone was very well informed. First Doc listened to my symptoms and concerns and took immediate action to stop the pain. Within 20 minutes thereafter, the world's fastest root canal specialist was taking care of me. They knew exactly what I needed and how to care for the work that was already done. Even offered a pro bono crown if my original crown didn't survive the root canal. Dr K professionally worked through the crown with world class precision. It was my first time there and he had less than 10 minutes of prep time. 30 mins after he was in the room, the root canal was complete, the second iteration was done, the buildup was done and I was out the door. I went from feeling like the world was going to end at 245pm to feeling safe and better by 6:15pm. Other dentists in Honolulu could benefit from coming to this place to learn how to triage, evaluate, and help patients get back to their day. Thanks to both Docs so much!

Dr. Ryan Chun is wonderful. He is so kind, gentle, and thorough. I really appreciate a more conservative approach to dental care, and that seems to come very naturally to him. He took his time with my filling and made sure everything was absolutely perfect before I left. Lori is my hygienist, and she is truly the best! She is incredibly thorough, and my teeth always feel amazing after she works her magic. I feel very lucky to have found such a great dental team and would highly recommend them.

Had a tooth cleaning and very happy that my teeth are clean and no cavities. All the staff treated me professionally and definitely will return again for my next six months appointment! I would like to thank Karen, hyginist who did the excellent cleaning, Dr. Chen who evaluated my tooth and Phoebe, for taking all the necessary X-rays for evaluation. In short I highly recommended these professionals in the Dental Office.

I am so happy I chose Ala Moana Dental. At first it looked like it might be a little pricey, but I went in and from day one I’ve gotten nothing but awesome service and great care at a low and reasonable cost. They are one of the only dentists I’ve seen, that are also open every single day and have amazing business hours. I highly recommend having you dental care done here.

I walked 4.25 miles (no car, but really needed to get a checkup) to get there and you treated me graciously--got me water and Dr. Kim saw me right away. He was personable and caring assuring me that I had no cavities. I was surprised also to learn that as I grow older, my teeth move. That offered an explanation as to why I was having some difficulty with flossing. Shannon then cleaned my teeth and she was just as friendly. Of course I appreciate your hours of operation, but more so the human connection with modern dentistry. Thank you very much.

We have been coming here for the last 2 years and they have been so great and helpful and patient. Their hours are fantastic and so very easy to get an appt. All the dentists are very knowledgeable and the hygienists and staff are very sweet. We are moving off island and will miss them very much.

I highly recommend Ala Moana Dental Care. I've had two crowns done here and both experiences were excellent. The team is quick, highly responsive, and incredibly professional. What really impressed me was their same-day rush service. The entire process from start to finish was just about 4 hours. Very happy with the results.

Customer Service! Convenient for people that can't find the time during the work week to find a dentist. I got to the building around 5:50 on a Saturday morning, the gate to the parking garage was closed, called the office and they came out to scan their key fob to let me in. I waited in the waiting room for about 5 minutes before being called in. I was in and out, felt like a Nascar pit stop, Xray, Dentist check up, cleaning, then out the door. Friendly staff, and did I mention Great Customer Service? I tell ALL my friends and family. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I had a great experience here! The ladies at the front desk were so nice and friendly, they made my first time checking in super easy. The guy who took the pictures of my teeth was really welcoming as well. Marilyn did my teeth cleaning and I loved her! She taught me about what she was doing with my teeth and told me stories while she worked. The entire staff did a really good job at making me feel welcomed there. I used to hate going to my old dentist office, but now I am exiting for my next cleaning here in 6 months

I had the best cleaning ever here. Normally, I dread the dentist because of my sensitive teeth. I told my hygienist about my concerns and she used settings and tools that made it painless! She was helpful with any questions/gave great education. Highly recommend this office!

My tooth started to ache on a Friday and Ala Moana Dental Care got me in at 7pm that night. I had Dr. Kim and he did a root canal and I was out of there just after 8pm. He was great! I especially liked that he would regularly keep my updated and encouraged me by saying things like "We are 75% done" and, "Thanks for being a great patient". I had to drive over an hour to get there but it is so worth it to get great service. Mahalo

I was traveling from Japan, and I needed an emergency treatment on my upper left tooth. I was a bit nervous at the beginning but everyone at the reception desk was so kind and helpful, and Dr. Inoue was very understanding and professional. He carefully explained what options were there for me, and his treatment was gentle and efficient. I would say visiting Ala Moana Dental Care and having been treated by Dr. Inoue was one of the best dental office experiences I have had in my life. Atsuko

Clean facility, advanced technology, and a great staff.

They are great! I did my root canals when I was in Hawaii in 2018 and then stuck with them ever since for yearly cleanings. I also did deep cleaning with them. Overall, a great experience and I will recommend anyone for a visit.

The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, which made checking in easy. The cleaning was thorough and comfortable — my teeth felt noticeably better afterward. Dr. Allison was the highlight. She's exceptionally knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly without making me feel rushed. She's also just genuinely warm and easy to talk to, which isn't always a given at the dentist!

I’ve only seen Shannon twice (since my previous hygienist at Ala Moana retired) and I’m 100% happy not only with the cleaning, as Shannon got rid of a few stubborn stains, but also with her friendly attitude, sense of humor and helpful suggestions regarding dental care. She definitely doesn’t rush through cleanings! Mahalo Shannon and you’re stuck with me every 6 months 🤭!

Ala Moana Dental Care is an efficient factory. They make sure you are in and out in one hour. You seldom see the same people twice. Yesterday, Karen cleaned my teeth - one of the best.

The receptionist were very accommodating and respectful. Adrienne, the Hygienist, did my prophylaxis, she was gentle yet worked meticulously with each tooth. You can feel every gum line and in-between teeth were cleaned thoroughly. I'm very satisfied with my experience at this clinic!

I’m impressed I only needed one shot of Novocain. I was numbed quickly. Doc knew exactly what to do and wasted no time to complete the procedure. The Dental Assistant was also superb.

Edit: 2026 and still happy! They got my son into the clinic in under an hour during a dental emergency. He severely chipped his tooth and they had him fixed up and smiling with a long term care plan the next day! If you are looking for a dentist, may I recommend Ala Moana Dental Care. They were recommended to me on a list of providers through United Concordia. Right outside the Ala Moana Mall they validate parking in their garage. I called today with a tooth concern and they got me an appointment right away. I'm talking same day, within 30 minutes. Turned out I needed a follow on cleaning and they accomodated me right away, even though I didn't have an appointment. I only had to wait 10 minutes. The doctor and staff were friendly and knowledgeable and took time to answer my questions and make sure I understood what was going on. The office was clean and nice and I actually enjoyed? Being at the dentist?!

I’ve had a good experience with this office overall. I was referred by a friend, and one thing I really appreciate is their weekend availability, which is very convenient for families. My daughter was seen for her 2-year checkup. Unfortunately, her cleaning couldn’t be completed due to the approach used during the visit. One suggestion I would offer is to consider adding a pediatric dentist or a provider with a more child-centered approach. Working closely with both parents and young children can make a big difference in helping little ones feel comfortable and cooperative during appointments. Of course, every dentist has a different style, and not every provider naturally connects with children in the same way. However, having a pediatric-focused option could be a valuable addition for families and might be worth considering in the future. Overall, the front desk team was welcoming and helpful, and the dentists were professional. We appreciate the care we received and look forward to seeing how the practice continues to grow.

Very welcoming

Became a new patient today at the Ala Moana dental office today. I had a crown that cracked last night and I was concerned that it would become painful . they took me in immediately in and I got to see a very professional dentist . they took x-rays and fortunately the crack was on the surface and does not need to be replaced soon. They are very professional and I am glad to have become a patient of this office.

I cannot say enough good things about Ala Moana Dental Care! I literally walked in off the street with a painful tooth. Was in the Dentist's chair within 20 minutes after filling out forms. Amazing operation and super convenient hours.

I had a wonderful experience at Ala Moana Dental Care today .The front desk staff was very welcoming, and I was seated right on time. The dentist was fantastic during checking my teeth and James, the hygienist, was gentle and thorough while removing my teeth stains. Leilani also did a great job positioning me for X-rays. The office and all equipment are modern, clean, and high-tech—even the restroom is beautifully decorated! I highly recommend this dental office and staffs.
